On the heels of last week's
controversy, Ralph Lauren finds himself in some more drama. Another
extremely photoshopped ad for the designer surfaced in a store in
Sydney, Australia. This time the model is another Ralph Lauren
regular, Valentina Zelyaeva. Valentina's upper body looks… Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (38) | Blog

Last week
Ralph Lauren came under fire for (what looked to be) an extremely
altered photo of a model in one of its ads. Bloggers at the
website BoingBoing.net posted… Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (5736) | Blog

The photoshop thing has gotten completely out of hand. I would like to see a worldwide model strike that included all of their contracts having anti-photoshop clauses. Let the adverts create their own models digitally (way more time and money than the shoot and enhancement) and see how well the… Read More »

The latest such image to cause an uproar is one featured in a new Ralph Lauren advertisement that shows a model, Filippa Hamilton, so emaciated that her waist actually appears to be smaller than her head. I have to say, I'm really disappointed in Olay. They already have a great product, so why do they need to stoop to deceit? Yeah, it's deceit. Call it what it is. (And if they are lying about this, what else are they lying about? It creates distrust rather than… Read More »

There's something about
these old-timey, illustrated Cate Blanchett covers that makes me
feel completely delighted. They're for Australian Vogue's
50th anniversary issue and they remind me of magazines from a
million years ago, when it was all about style, clothes, and
fashion fantasy… Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (1) | Blog

Okay okay, we know we've been cuckoo for Kim Kardashian lately, and although I've personally never been much of a fan (indeed, I have never even seen Keeping up with the Kardashians), I've gotta add one more to the pile. Let me just say that I was truly impressed by the bold move she pulled in refusing to have her bikini-clad body airbrushed for her Life & Style cover. (In case you missed it, she told the gals at The View it was her own personal response to the whole Complex magazine airbrushing/internet-leak scandal that went down last month.) Read More »
