My sister and I recently got into a debate about this. She's a meticulous shaver year-round, while I tend to get a little lax once the weather cools down enough for me to wear pants every day (much to my boyfriend's chagrin).Where do you stand on this? Is cold weather the perfect excuse to put your razor away or do you like having smooth legs year-round? (Not sure what your position is? This quiz should clarify things.)
Also, it'd be great to hear from any guys on this issue. I know what this survey says about their feelings on smooth legs, but I'd love to find out more.
And hey, if you are one of those year-round shavers, you'll love these tips to keep your legs soft and stubble-free.

OMG, I had no idea that waxing was such a crazy (and let's be honest, gross) profession. These poor ladies are dealing with some serious stuff: insane clients, dirty butts and more. I wouldn't have believed it, except I heard it straight from the waxers' mouths: Jodi Shays of Queen Bee Waxing in Culver City, Calif., Cindy Barshop of Completely Bare Salons in New York City, and Leah Nacion of The Waxing Co. in Honolulu all spilled the darkest secrets of waxing. Check them out below, and pray that you haven't committed one of these faux pas (ew!). Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (23) | Blog

I don't know about you, but the past month or so of near-constant skirt/short wearing has meant daily shaving and my legs could use a little TLC. Luckily, I've found the steps to get myself back on track for soft, smooth, sexy legs. Because I don't want to spend this July heat wave in jeans, ugh!Step 1: First, figure out your shaving style here.

Ok, Day 6 of No Buy July. On
a scale of 1 to 10 I'd say I'm at about a 7.5. I managed to
go to Target and NOT even go near the clothes, shoes, or beauty
aisles the other day! But on the 4th I ran into my first question
of whether or not to buy. I was shaving my legs, ( a must for a day

In an attempt to save some cash, I tried waxing my legs at home. I'll spare you the gory details, but basically it was a disaster (it rivaled some of these hair removal horror stories). I now realize I made two very big mistakes. One, I used one of these sub-par waxing kits. And two, I didn't know what the heck I was doing.
Now, I'm a little wiser, thanks to these at-home waxing tips. It turns out it's actually not that hard to de-fuzz on your own, you just need to know what to do -- and even more importantly, what not to do. Spare yourself the pain and ingrown hairs and check out these dos and don'ts: Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (3) | Blog

Don't you just hate it? You do everything right -- exfoliate regularly, use your cellulite cream religiously (and since it's this one, it's actually working!), apply self tanner meticulously (using these tips) -- only to have it all messed up with a horrible shave or wax. It's enough to drive a girl crazy -- at least, it is for these TotalBeauty.com readers.
They were unfortunate enough to use these hair removers, which range from mediocre to just plain awful. Scan the list before you buy a new razor or try that waxing kit that looks so appealing, because you don't want to ruin all your hard work with razor burn or a rash (ew!). If you're wondering why any of these made the list, click the name to see what our readers have to say.

Stan Ades winced every day as he faced his shaving mirror. His sensitive skin was sure to be nicked and boo-booed no matter which shaving cream product he used and over the years he'd tried them all. There must be a better way, he thought. He met with a chemist and together they came up with Pacific Shaving Oil. Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (0) | Blog
