This morning I had to be on TV, and as usual when one has to be on TV, I was up at the crack of dawn, put into more makeup than a high-class lady of the night, and placed in front of a camera. From there, I proceeded to speak about fashion and style and gesticulate like a wild, overly excited animal. Thing is, TV makes me nervous, and this nervousness manifests into a couple of problems: 1. Sweating, Albert-Brooks-in-Broadcast-News style, and 2. Visible nipples.
The former I have pretty well resolved with the crap-load of makeup I mentioned and deodorant so powerful it could kill a small village of ants. The latter, however... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (19) | Blog

Oh, yuck. It's been a terrible week for getting dressed here on the East Coast. Kind of cold, muggy, gray, wet. It's the kind of weather I never, ever know how to dress for, the kind where I'm always shivering or sweating and I always have bad-ish, fluffy, feathered-looking hair.
Anyway. The sun appears to be coming out, finally. I'm wearing a plaid shirt from Quiksilver (left), that I got on sale, skinny-ish J Brand jeans, silver hoops and black suede Minnetonka ankle boots. To be honest, I hated both the shirt and the shoes when I first bought them. I had a little internal tantrum/shame spiral about what a dumb, trendy shopper I am and how I waste money and when will I ever... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (41) | Blog

I'm just going to tell you all right now: I have no fashion game today. I know, I should. It's What Are You Wearing Today day and I should step it up. But, alas, a hangover and the fact that it's going to be a lazy weekend have stolen my will and brought me to the dreaded of dreads style-wise: A gray hoodie. Over a dress. With yellow flip flops and messy hair and mascara a little smudged from last night. I know you guys can do better than me.
Your turn.

Even though it's still August, something about the cooler weather this week made me feel like summer is over (sadness, tears). And so, for the first time since May, I have been wearing jeans (also? I'm so tired of having to shave my legs every single day, and pants totally eliminate this task). Anyway, today I am wearing a pair of 7 for All Mankind jeans that I bought on eBay and that I completely love, a white tank and flat brown leather sandals. My hair is down and yes, I am wearing the dreaded Wayfarers again.
Best jeans ever. Though this not exactly, um, how I look in them.
Now, you go.

Can you believe it's already Friday again? How was your week? What are you wearing today? Is it awesome?
Dear readers, my outfit is not. In fact it may be the antithesis of awesome, filling no one I see today with glee. Truth is, I've kind of hit the wall with summer 2008 style. My new shoes, my great hope of fashion resuscitation, have not arrived yet and basically I'm feeling sick of everything. If I have to look at another pair of gladiators or yet one more maxi dress, I might be forced to choke myself with an exotic-print scarf.
Ok. So here it is, my outfit: I'm actually wearing LEGGINGS (forgive me); a long, baggy, mesh-ish, lavender-colored tank-top sweater and...flip-flops. I'm kind of doing an early-80s work-out goes to the beach in 1994. It's confusing
However, what I wish I was wearing is the following: These incredible canvas, gold-tipped flats by Dru (on sale for $48 from $121!); a navy blue... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (52) | Blog

I seriously cannot believe it's Friday already. The week was not only a good one, but it went by sooo fast. Anyway, it's another unbelievably beautiful day in Brooklyn. Bright, not too hot and the morning smells like summer in the best possible way. Not to be too annoyingly cheerful, but I am also wearing one of my favorite things I bought all summer—this cute paisley dress from Urban Outfitters which has pockets (which I love) and my navy Worishofer sandals which you all hate. I have hair down and later I will put on lipstick and dangly gold earrings.
Alright, now you. Tell me: What are you wearing today? Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (33) | Blog
