Watching Jon and Kate plus 8 makes me Feel Like a Wimp
By Nataly Kogan, originally written at Work It Mom. Right now I am sitting on the couch in our living room, surrounded by wrapping paper, gifts, ribbons, balloons, dishes, glasses, and numerous unidentified objects. I had to ask my husband to please bring my laptop from upstairs because I simply... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (32) | Blog

Back home again.
I'm home. Meaning that I'm not working outside the home anymore. I was a stay at home mom for over 10 years when I had to return to work following a divorce. That whole time period was one of the scariest adventures that I've ever been on. I learned alot about myself and what I could do... Read More »

Paid maternity leave shrinking as companies pull back on benefits
From the I-guess-it's-no-surprise-but-still-tremendously-disappointing files, the Wall Street Journal's Sue Shellenbarger reports that companies are pulling back on paid maternity leave benefits. (my old article, I had to post it, so many people still talk about it helping moms...)As a working mom, I have been very stressed out with not being able to foster my children’s creativity in the tiny span of time we have together in the day. I leave before they are awake in the morning and due to... Read More »

TLC ‘soccer mom’ show pits mom v. mom. Oh, that again.
Great. Just what we needed. One, another reality TV show. Two, a reality TV show that says it’s “celebrating stay-at-home-moms” when instead it is pouring fuel on the tired feud between moms in the work force and moms who work full time for no pay taking care of their kids. It’s a ridiculous woman-v.-woman debate that serves no one and divides and angers everyone. Read More »

Tina Fey makes smart cool
I can't tell you how many times I have thanked the heavens that my girls have Tina Fey. The "30 Rock" writer/producer/star of SNL fame makes smart cool, and none too soon.
Yahoo! TV
Before "30 Rock" I was hard-pressed to pick a favorite TV working-woman role model that I'd want my girls to watch week in, week out. Sure, there are all those smart, edgy crime-fighting women on the CSI shows, but where are all the geeky girl writers/students turned smart women who literally run the show?
