This is Part One of a
Three-Part Series
The back-to-school craziness has started to die down. Routines are established. Kids are used to their schedules. Parents finally have the drop-off and pick-up responsibilities straightened out. Everything seems to have fallen in place. But then…

There are days when I think, “Maybe she’d be better off if I just sucked it up, lived extra-frugally and spent my weekdays with her instead of going to work while she’s at the sitter…” But a scary brush with layoffs last week had me feeling really good about earning a decent income. I've started working more hours over the past few months and I'm now struggling a bit to fit in my regular exercise workouts. I've gone through phases in my life before, where I've had to alter the time, length and type of workout I've done to fit my current schedule's needs. (I just...

Just wondered how many other women are out there in my situation and how you all are making it work. I am a single mom ("by choice") working in a full-time 9-6 type job, nannyless right now -- just using preschool and their after-hours daycare and some sporadic babysitters for... Read More »
