1. Stand Up
Standing is an effortless way to burn more calories, says Kevin Asuncion, a certified personal trainer and founder of Movemo, a mobile personal training company in Los Angeles, Calif. "Standing requires tensing of muscles, shifting, and fidgeting-all things that require energy." Stand up for 10 minutes out of every hour during your eight-hour workday, and you'll burn off an extra 100 calories.
2. Give Your Partner A Massage
Burn off 100 calories and earn some bonus points by giving your partner a 20-minute massage. Hopefully he'll reciprocate!
3. Take Your Coffee Break On Foot
Got a Starbucks close to the office? Walk there instead of driving. You'll burn 100 calories with a 20-minute (round trip) break for coffee. Just be sure to keep your coffee 'skinny' to avoid drinking all those calories back.
4. Update Your Facebook Status
Believe it or not, surfing the web or updating your Facebook page burns calories, too, says Dr. Sejal Shah, Associate Medical Director for Medi-Weight Loss in Tampa, Fla. Not that we even have to suggest it, but make sure to do it for an hour over the course of the day. Clicking equals calories burned!
