What to wear on a blind date

Figuring out what to wear on a blind date can seem like a daunting task. Do you want to go formal or casual? This largely depends on where you'll be going. Things get complicated when you are not sure about the plans for the night. Most blind dates start out meeting at a restaurant or other establishment and, if things go well, progress from there. Be prepared for whatever the evening brings with these few tips.

    The Importance of Layering

A well layered woman is a well prepared woman. Simple tips include wearing a bathing suit or tank top, underneath your fancy blouse, in case you end up going for a midnight swim or long drive. Put on a pair of your cutest shorts underneath your dancing skirt in case you end up going horseback riding or taking a tour around town on a motorcycle. Always grab a sweater or light jacket no matter how warm it is when you leave because you'll never know what the weather might turn into later.

    Choose a Longer Skirt

It's understandable that you want to show off your shapely legs but the more that is left to the imagination on a blind date, the better. This is for obvious reasons, like not wanting him to get the wrong impression of the night's planned events, but it is also for practical motives as well. For example, let's say that you plan on meeting your guy at the local café. While enjoying your cup of coffee and a good conversation, you overhear the couple at the table next to you talking about the carnival in town. You and your date look at each other, think "Why not?", and head for the door. With a short skirt you may not be able to let loose and enjoy all of the faster or larger rides, unless you like the old "I See London" song.

Bring a Change of Clothing Just in Case

Throw a bag in your trunk with a comfortable change of clothes just in case you need them. Choose a cute set of sweats or your favorite pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Most importantly, do not forget a pair of extra shoes. Your feet will thank you after a night of dancing if you change into tennis shoes before trying to find something open at two to get an early breakfast. Plus, you have to be ready for anything that might happen when you are deciding what to wear on a blind date. You might need that extra outfit if you spill something on yourself, or he turns out to be your soul mate and you to run you off to Vegas. Stranger things have happened.
