The film itself, directed by the frightening Paul Schrader (he wrote "Taxi Driver") is based on a Bret Easton Ellis script. But Rodrick's Times profile focuses on the behind-the-scenes story of movie-making with a uniquely talented, emotionally unstable actress who won't be ignored.
It begins with Lohan in negotiations for the part and ends with the screening of a film with a questionable future. What happens in between can only be fully absorbed by taking 30 minutes from your workday to read the entire article. For...Read More »

I woke up on New Year's Day to a repeat episode of Dr. Phil from 2003 called "Money Matters." On the show, they were discussing the biggest money mistakes that people make that cause them to be in dire financial situations. And if you know anything about Dr. Phil, he did not sugar coat things for the couples on the show. He gave them some very good practical advice. Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Someone you go to for support or assistance will turn things to their own advantage if you're not careful. Be especially choosey about who you ask for help -- otherwise you could give away the very thing you are trying to save.

Sandler sets worst-movie record with Razzies sweep
In 2010, actress Sandra Bullock won a Razzie for Worst Actress and an Oscar in the same weekend and was a great sport about it.

Katherine Heigl for One for the Money
What was this movie about, anyway? Something to do with Gerard Butler being a bounty hunter, we don't even remember. Katherine Heigl has as much appeal as a stale piece of white bread or the worst taste in scripts, or both.
Milla Jovovich for Resident Evil #5: Retribution
This series has its fans, but one called this most recent film "THE WORST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER," which is saying a lot. Though it might work for actress Frances McDormand (whose husband is one-half of the Coen Brothers), it...Read More »

Unless you've been living under a rock, you are well aware of the state of the economy in this country. We're in one of the deepest recessions in recent memory. People are hurting and so far, recovery has been slow. Unemployment figures announced recently do little to assuage that. You may be thinking what does this have to do with me? I have a job. After all, it makes more sense to make yourself a valuable employee in your current job than to go out and try to find a new one in this dismal economy. With this in mind, I asked my friend, a small business owner, about the things she absolutely hated to hear come out of an employee's mouth.
