With the success of Derma-Full and Luminosity Pro Brightening Serum , Avon has introduced its third product in its clinical line with the ANEW Clinical Lift and Firm Pro Serum. I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with the minds behind this new product, Dr. Anthony and Dr. Cheryl Karcher, about this serum and the special ingredient behind it - Arginine. Arginine is an injectable grade ingredient that helps boost the skin's production of elastin, the protein in your skin that keeps it firm and prevents the sagging that comes with age. Another ingredient more visible in the clear bottle are the Pro-Firming beads, a skin tightening polymer. For those who would rather forgo procedures like Botox¸ this serum aims to give your face a firmer and more youthful appearance just by using it every night before bed. "As you age, skin loses its youthful firmness, resulting in a person looking years older than they truly are," explains Dr. Cheryl Karcher, M.D. "ANEW Clinical Lift and Firm Pro Serum instantly tightens the look of skin plus visibly restores youthful firmness over time."
Though I'm not displaying any signs of aging just yet, I asked Dr. Karcher if women my age should even be using anti-aging products like this one. She explained that it's much better to start early as a preventative method, making achieving firm skin later easier to do as opposed to trying to reverse the sagginess later on. So, I felt a little better giving this product a try for the past couple of weeks in leiu of my nightly moisturizer (my skin can't take too much product at night). The serum is very light, not needing more than a finger sized amount to cover my face. It didn't leave my skin feeling greasy nor did I experience any irritation or adverse effects (definitely a good thing!). I won't know the full effect of the clinical serum when it comes to keeping my skin firm as it ages but I will say that my skin did look and feel great while I was using it!
