Have you ever heard or read that if you sin and you continue to do so that God will shun you and you will go to hell? How can that be? Have you also heard or read that our God is a loving God and that you were created in his own image?
Well, if our God is a loving God and he created us in his own image how in the world could he shun us and allow you to go to hell?
I know that if my son did wrong and continued to do wrong that I would never shun him and throw him out of my life. First, I would talk with him, work with him, find help for him and then find more help for him. Would God do less? I don't think so, do you?
I have also heard and read that the gates to heaven are not open to everyone. If we were created in God's own image how in the world could he turn his back on any of his children? I do not believe that he would.
I believe that heaven is open to everyone and that God will be there to greet each and every one of his children regardless of how we lived our lives on earth.
Having said that, I also believe that there is in fact a devil. This devil has placed his own children on this earth and, to some extent; they look and act as we do. These are the ones who will be shunned at the gates of heaven.
Since none of God's children are perfect, and are not expected to be, how do you know if you are a child of God or a child of devil? That is very simple to answer. You know that in your heart. In fact, everyone knows that in their heart.
Those who go to church every week and participate in prayer meetings and go to Sunday school are not the only children who will be allowed in heaven. Every child of God will be welcomed regardless of their history. It's the children of the devil who will be shunned.
Am I a student of the scripture? No. Am I some authority in the field of religion? No. Then, who am I exactly? I am a believer in Christ our Lord and I thank God for Jesus every day, however, I have never completely read the Bible and I do not attend church, but in my heart of hearts I do know that I am a child of God.
Our God is a loving God and he will take care of each of his children as you will or have taken care of your children. Our God, however, will not take care of the devils children. That, my friends, is something for you to believe in.
