The Muppets (Finally) Got Their Very Own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

The Muppets have finally joined the ranks of the screen greats immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Hoorah!

Frankly, I'm not sure how this didn't happen sooner, but guess what? The Muppets have finally been honored with their very own star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame! In the words of Kermit the Frog , yaaaaaaaay!

On Tuesday, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Walter, and all the rest were present to receive the 2,466th star on Hollywood Boulevard. According to E! Online, Kermit had some lovely words for the crowd gathered to commemorate the event: "We are just really happy to be on Hollywood Boulevard today, joining some of the greatest names in show biz," the frog, who already has his own star.

E! Online also took the opportunity to ask Miss Piggy who her screen idols are. Her reply? "Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Norma Desmond…"

"Norma Desmond is a fictional star," Kermit corrected, referring to the diva of the 1950 classicSunset Boulevard.

"Aren't they all?" Miss Piggy shot back. Ah, true puppet love!

Kermit, Miss Piggy and company were also joined by Lisa Henson, the eldest daughter of Muppet creator Jim Henson, and Walt Disney Studios chairman Rich Ross. The star is located not too far away from Jim's in front of the El Capitan Theatre, the fabulous, fully restored movie palace-which, it should be noted, doubled as the Muppet Theatre in The Muppets (out on DVD and Blu-ray now!).

The Muppets, by the way, are far from the only fictional characters to have earned their very own star; Big Bird, Bugs Bunny, the Rugrats, and Godzilla are all among the list of characters gracing the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
