Not enough words to express the awesomeness of my mom

My mother is the woman in my life who inspires me the most. She has worked as hard as she possibly could since the day I was born to raise me to be the best that I can be. She has always been selfless and sought to do whatever she could for me and give me her best. She put me in a great private school from elemetary school through highschool graduation. She did all that she could to make sure she would be able to pay the monthly tuition even if it meant working at an airline as a seamstress in the mechanics shop with a bunch of guys overnight, or working undergound building Denver International Airport's baggage system.-No really she did that! :)
My mom has always been a leader in our church from women's to childrens ministries, clothing and food banks. Her heart is full of love and compassion for those in need and she will always do anything and everything that she possibly can to help anyone and everyone. This particular characteristic came in pretty handy when her and my step-father decided they would like to become a foster home. They took in lots of different childern with lots of different situations and backgrounds over several years. They were almost always young girls between the ages of 10-15 or so. Many of them had been victims of physical, mental, and sexual abuse. She was there to comfort them, teach them to value themselves, and helped them get to therapies, appointments, visits, etc. all to help them reach their goal of reuniting with their families whenever possible. Most of the girls were able to do so, and still to his day she receives calls from them to say thank you for her help in getting them to a better life. Some still stop by, or pop in to say Merry Christmas. Its amazing...all of these girls are adults themselves now with their own children who now can pass along what she has tought them. Guess that is why she won the Foster Parent of the Year Award :)
My hopes are that I can be just as loving, patient, caring, and proactive as her weather its to my peers or children of my own. I can't imagine life without my mom. Love you mama!
