These celebrities are real do-gooders-
Ryan Gosling captured hearts in New York City recently, when he helped break up a fight in the middle of a busy street. It took awhile for bystanders to notice that the Good Samaritan (known for his swoon-worthy roles in "The Notebook" and "Crazy. Stupid. Love") was actually the movie heartthrob, but now there's plenty of YouTube evidence out there as to the actor's good deed.
Even though Gosling has offered his fans another reason to love him, he told MTV.com he's "embarrassed" by his role in breaking up a fight between an artist and alleged thief. "I'm embarrassed. I think that guy really was stealing that other guy's painting, so I should have just kept my nose out of it," the actor said of the incident while promoting his new film, "Drive." "It was sad, because it turns out that I said to the guy, 'Why are you doing this?' He said, 'Well, he tried to steal my painting.' I said, 'How do you know?' and he said, 'Well, he comes here every day and looks at my paintings,' which means the guy was a fan, and so he wanted the painting so bad he had to steal it because he couldn't aff less
