Thanks for all the wonderful uses for the dryer sheets - I was especially interested in the Bug removal for vehicles, and the shower door tips. I had heard those but really hadn't retained them!

...they keep vampires away...just keep one tied around your neck. It works! I've never been bitten by a vampire since I started using dryer sheets.

I don't think I want to use these things in my cookware. I also stopped using them on my cat, I think they were making him sick when he licked all of that silicone off of his fur...I just spray a homemade olive oil emulsion on him now to kill the static when I brush him.

The sad part about the "bug repellant" use is that some studies are linking silicones and the extinction of bees from planet earth...

"silicones, parrafin (petroleum wax) and perfumes blended together with non-woven fibers"...this is a dryer sheet. I sometimes attach a couple to the outlet side of my shop vacuum cleaners so micro-dust just falls to the floor. I simply apply more silicone spray (ArmorAll-ish) if needed. I also spray the outlet side of the HVAC filters on low humidity days. Some folks put dryer sheets behind their floor and wall registers...to eliminate static and as a cheap filter. Just spray and/or replace as needed.

Here's another one - you can use a dryer sheet in a pan caked with food - such as lasagna. Just put a dryer sheet in the pan with water, soak for a couple hours and just watch the food fall off the pan! Works great.

I also use used dyer sheets as a quick dust cloth for blinds. Dirt clings right to it.

OMG! I have extremely hard water and bath/shower scum is SO hard to clean. I suggest that you take all your used dryer sheets to your bathrooms; AMAZING cleaner in the showers (just wet and wipe tiles, glass, chrome and aluminum door frames)...POOF. amazing and quick. Thank you thank you!

soak dryer sheet overnight in baked on caserole dishes and hard to wash pots and pans. In the morning you can practically wipe them clean.

All this info is very interesting!!! As far as the dryer sheets being toxic..... There are several things in this world that are toxic. Our air that we breath, I'm sure, is horrendice... and the water that fish swim in, is horrible also.... but you still have to live your life.... the gnats attack me in the summer time and they leave horrible welts on me... if a dryer sheet keeps that from happening.. then Amen!!! If you worry about what's going to cause you to have cancer your whole life, then you won't be able to enjoy life.... hell, you may end up getting hit by a bus next week....... You can't live for tomorrow....... because it may never come. Enjoy today!!!

If you have a pan with burnt on food, Soak your pan by placing a dryer sheet into the pan and warm water. Leave it to soak and it does wonders on the pan without scrubbing.

I also have had problems with mice getting into autos. While I was away for several months, they got into the engine compartment and knawed through the covering on some electric wires. In another case, I was using the car every day but when I took it in for service, the technician showed me quite a large collection of seeds inside my air filter, placed there by an industrious rodent--sort of my own fault as I was keeping a bird feeder outside close to the garage.

Just don't put them in your dryer it can ruin it.

Re: mice in car---I think this person was referring to vehicles that maybe sit vacant all winter long. A vehicle that is used everyday wouldn't necessarily attract mice.

Put one or two in your suitcase when not in use. Keeps it fresh smelling.
