YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

    The 10 Wackiest Pet Accessories

Devotion to one's four-legged friend is admirable, but there are products out there that take things to extremes. From doggie highchairs to gizmos that cover your pet's unmentionable areas, nothing compares to these totally strange and over-the-top pet accessories.

    1. Dogbrella

The Dogbrella ($30 from Hammacher-Schlemmer) is the thing for dog owners who can't stand the idea of their pooch getting wet in the rain. The top of the umbrella hooks to your pet's leash to keep it from moving out from under the protective canopy. Silly, but it will help minimize wet-dog smell and keep your home dry.

    2. Diamond Dog Collar

For the pooch who truly has everything, may we present the "Amour, Amour" diamond dog collar ($3,200,000!). Dubbed "the Bugatti of dog collars," the chandelier design features 52 carats of diamonds-over 1,600 in all-set in 18-karat white gold. There are no words.

    3. Dog Beer

We couldn't believe our eyes when we first spotted Bowser Beer ($16 for a six-pack on Amazon), but our amazement turned to confusion when we realized it's basically a canine supplement. Instead of giving your pooch a pill to help with its joints and coat, you can give them this hop-, carbonation- and alcohol-free beverage, which is made from beef broth, pure malt barley, and glucosamine.

    4. Rear Gear

When we first spotted Rear Gear butt covers for dogs and cats ($5 each on Etsy) we thought they had to be a gag product. Alas, they appear to be real-just gag-inducing! The small plastic covers slip over your pet's tail and conceals its, well…you know.

    5. Pet High Chair

You can now invite your favorite four-legged friend to dinner with the pet high chair ($50 from Hammacher-Schlemmer), which is said to combat a pet's frustration at not being part of the family at dinner and "promotes more refined behavior." Refined behavior! From creatures that drink from the toilet! Let's just hope Tinkerbell knows which fork to use for salad.

    6. Personal Pet Carrier

If you can't bear to be away from your pooch for even the shortest amount of time, now you can strap it to your person as you would a baby with the Legs Out Front Pet Carrier ($22 on Amazon). We never thought we'd say this, but we'd rather see a person carrying a small dog in a handbag.

    7. Snuggie for Dogs

The Snuggie for dogs ($15) is another product we thought had to be a joke when we first saw it in the now infamous Snuggie commercials last year. But it is real and, we suppose, perfect for chilly nights curled up in front of the TV with your canine companion.

    8. Mid-Century Cat Bed

If you love modern design and your cat-and we mean really love your cat-this gorgeous handcrafted bent plywood cat lounger would make the perfect addition to your home. But, this Eames-esque design won't come cheap (which is why we said you really have to love your kitty)-it's priced at $790!

Does it seem to you like there's more going on behind your pet's eyes than the usual, "Feed me, walk me, pet me"? If so, snatch up one of these Pet-Casso kits ($20 from ThinkGeek), which allows your furry friend to channel his creativity into a lovely work of art. The kit includes everything your animal needs to create three works of art-while ensuring it stays nice and clean the entire time.

    10. The Canine Genealogy Kit

Perhaps Fido isn't convinced as to the paternity of his litter. If that's the case, he should check out the DNA Breed Identification Kit ($60)-perfect for any scandalous canine versions of Maury. It'll also help you get a better understanding of your mixed-breed dog's behavior and personality as well as discover any potential health risks by determining just what breeds he is.
