Twins are in the air around here -- Cafe MicheleZ is expecting them, as is the mom star of our Pregnancy Week by Week feature, and my friend Patty.
So it was perfectly on schedule for another CafeMom to send me not just one but FOUR Super Smoothie Recipes for Picky Eaters the other day. I guess when you have twins you multiply everything.
"I have picky twin boys and it's so difficult to get veggies in them, so I do a lot of smoothies in the summer," this CafeMom says. "I puree up fruit and freeze them in ice cube trays."
To make these delicious and nutritious drinks, just dump the following ingredients into the blender and puree to the desired texture.
Strawberry Pumped (The Iron Booster)
1 cup strawberries
1 banana
2 mango cubes
1 cup apple juice
tbsp honey
½ cup ice
1 tsp. milled flax seed
Vitamin C Crush
1 cup orange juice
2 pineapple rings
1 very ripe banana
2 tbsp. cream of coconut
1 tsp. milled flax seed
1 carrot or sweet potato cube
Antioxidant Galore
1/4 cup black berries
1/2 cup blueberries
1/4 cup raspberries
1/2 cup frozen cherries
2 tbsp. cooked beet pieces
1/4 avocado
3/4 cup orange juice
1tbsp. honey
Smooth Sailing (The Fiber Booster)
1/2 cup apple or strawberry juice
1 cup sliced peaches
2 mango cubes
3 strawberries
1/4 avocado
2 tsp. milled flax seed
1 tbsp. honey
1/2cup ice chips
