Most of us love Lady O. She's brought us the neti pot (OK, well, reminded us of its existence), Dr. Oz, cutie Nate Berkus and the good-for-you concept of "living your best life." All good stuff, yes, but could you really take ALL of her advice? One woman in Chicago is doing just that ...
Robyn Okrant, 35, a yoga instructor in Chicago decided to give it a try for a year. She takes the advice Oprah dispenses through her show and magazine. That means doing things like savoring her meals rather than wolfing them down, as well as buying the vitamins, the shoes, the sweaters, and the kind-of-obscure things, too--like a stuffed dolphin--that Oprah recommends. (We're all striving for self-improvement, but here are 12 things about you that are perfect just the way they are.)
Her goal? To see if she'd be happier, healthier and "find bliss" by living according to Oprah, and also to make a point:
"I think I'm an example of how ridiculous it gets when women follow icons or follow celebrities completely, so I know there's a shade of the absurd in here," Okrant told Matt Lauer on the Today Show this morning. "I am not an Oprah fanatic. Oprah's like the popular girl in high school, and she tells us what to do and how to dress and we do it and we're happy because of it." Okrant blogs about her adventures in Oprah Land here.
What do you think of Okrant's stunt?
