What Will You Be for Halloween?

    By Claudine Zap

While Halloween is still a few weeks off, the searches on Yahoo! for the perfect costume are heating up. Still drawing a blank on what to wear on the fright night? We thought we could inspire you with some of the trends we're seeing on the Web.

While popular terms like "witch" and "princess" (not to mention "sexy witch" and "sexy princess") are perennial favorites, this season's lookups are spookily high on one performer who seems to celebrate Halloween every day: Yep, "Lady Gaga Halloween costumes" are topping the list.

Others want to take on the larger-than-life look of the "jersey shore cast costumes." Sure, the Snooki pouf can be had - for a price.

What, not your bag? How about switching out the goblin suit for "vampire costumes." Not a bad choice. Who would really deny you anything dressed like that? Other popular get-ups this year are "Alice in Wonderland," "Glinda the Good Witch" from "The Wizard of Oz" and "Addams Family" costumes.

If you're shopping for your guy, may the force be with you. Because "Star Wars" costumesare among the most popular costume searches for men.

Other top options: Pirates, devils, knights, and mummys.

For the little ones, even infants can part of the fun. Topping the kiddie searches is the "pink poodle infant toddler costume," and we can see why.

Other hot choices with the small set: "Harry Potter", "The Incredibles" costumes, girl vampire costumes, lion costumes, and Elmo.

And what would trick or treating be without dressing up the family pet? Searches on "hot dog costumes" are just too tasty to pass up. Fido will forgive you. Eventually.

Oh please! When are these talentless pieces of trash from Jersey Shore going to go away?!!!
Why on earth would someone want to look like that short, fat, round waste of space?

wow..cant they do better than THAT? who would want to dress up as LADY GAGA? i mean, she is a freak, so i could understand that they'd dress up as her becuz she has the weirdest (and sometimes ugliest) clothes so....yeah im not trying to make anyone mad, im juz saying my opinion.

Wow. I'm just speechless. This is it? These, according to Yahoo!, are the things to be this Halloween? Sad. Lady Gaga & Snooki?, you mean there are girls that would actually dress like them? The only reason I can come up with to why they'd dress like them are:

They actually look up to them and want to emulate them.

And if Lady Gaga and Snooki are seen as role-models, then we're screwed.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and these costume ideas are pretty sad. Of course dressing as any reality 'star' is wack and boring unless you really own it and make it funny. I don't care for the poodle costume either, blegh. Just because it's a little person doesn't mean you have to dress her up in hideous pink plumes of bath towel material. Have some creativity, sheesh.

And if girls want to be sexy, that's fine, but they could at least step it up a notch and make a statement, like actually create a costume instead of flouncing around in just a miniskirt, stilettos and cat ears.

OMG PPL.....Gaga (Even thought the girl or boy who designed that crappy costume is probably hideous) is not a drag queen or Skanky!!!! The girl from the jersey shore costume is wayyyyy 2 purrtyy to be Snooki! OMG PPL!! GET THIS STUFF RIGHTTT!

are they kidding me? who wants to look like those overpaid w----s from a reality tv show?

Some people take Halloween way too seriously. You're not going to CHURCH in these outfits, people. I hate "Jersey Shore" as much as the next person, but I still don't get why everyone is going "omggg Snooki is so stupid, that's so unoriginal." Uh, what IS original, then? Dressing up as yourself? Yeah, have fun with that. If you can't dress up as someone silly and learn to laugh at yourself, then stay at home.

Does the Snooki costume come with orange-y fake tanner?
    • Melissa  •  1 year 8 months ago
To answer the question from the post, not scream about how I hate the people these costume ideas represent, I'm going as a peacock. Recycling a black tutu dress from last year and making the whole thing myself - feathers, tail, headpiece and all. It's gonna be a giant pain, but I'm excited for the outcome!!

My guy is going as Alex DeLange from A Clockwork Orange, and his is going to be AMAZING. We're both big into making our own - they always look better than box costumes...
