What holds up and what doesn't?-
Stop everything and go to iTunes. They've released a bunch of '80s TV shows for free download (they have "Hunter," people!). This embarassment of riches works nicely with a game I like to play called "does it hold up?" As a kid, I was obsessed with "Family Ties" and when I landed a copy of season 3 and 4 on DVD last year, I was thrilled to discover it totally held up. A few things had changed: I found dad Stephen Keaton sexier than my original crush, Alex P. Keaton. The sitcom format felt more staged than I remember it to be and I couldn't get over how often they drank orange juice. But overall, the jokes were pretty funny and the cast was more than just believable, they were loveable. But not every show is as promising. I took a second look at some of my favorite, long-forgotten shows as a kid. Here's what stood the test of time...and what didn't. less
