YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

Why can't Christina Aguilera get it together?

The buzz is that Xtina will get booted from "The Voice" for excessive boozing and boyfriending on the set. And while it's still just a rumor, it might be slightly supported by reports that Adam Levine and Blake Shelton take shots during filming and, as pointed out on Jezebel, the fact that "she's the only lady, surrounded by a bunch of dudebros, and maybe she feels more comfortable hanging with her boyfriend than high-fiving and downing tequila?"

One source said during this second season's filming that Aguilera pays more attention to her own man-friend on the set than she does her contestants, which could lead to her being fired for season three of the show. (An NBC rep says point-blank: "There is absolutely no truth to the rumor.")

The allegations, whether accurate or not, are easy to pin on Aguilera. No amount of Perez Hilton-posted denials of the "news" or PR spinning will make us stop expecting her to be kindly asked to leave some job, if not this one. And that is a reputation she's built for us herself.

She has incredible talent, has had undisputed success in a very tough industry, and is one of few child stars who still performs as an adult. She transitioned from a sweet-ish Celine Dion-alike persona to less-classy Bond Girl to pin-up glam, and can hold her own on stage and among the aforementioned delicious dudebros alongside her in "The Voice" judge's chairs. Still, no matter what breaks she gets or how mightily she climbs back on to the scene, Aguilera cannot ever seem to completely get it together.

Sure, we can forgive her for slipping up on the national anthem. And since she is a woman who owns her va-va-voom, we can set aside our mama-like instincts to let down the hems of her pencil skirts just a smidge when she's not looking. What we're wondering about is the big stuff, the sad "is she going to LiLo it out" stuff that makes us expect her to be kicked off her hit show (even if she really isn't).

What's concerning are the continual references to Aguilera's out of control drinking, as evidenced by an arrest for public intoxication (at the same time her BF was arrested for a DWI), a confrontation with Julianne Hough, and plenty of eek-inducing pass-out pictures and paparazzi shots of her stumbling around-all just this year. While she was released from jail and the charges were dropped, while she has been through a divorce and certainly has all those "exhausting" pressures of being in the biz, this is a 30-year-old woman who appears to working hard at justifying her bad-girl image.

Maybe it's time to not drink at work. Perhaps it would be wise to use those diva tactics to kick down some of the dudebroness on set. Just a thought.

I don't think Aguilera would be Xtina without some of her wild ways and extensive vocal embellishments. But wouldn't it be nice to not think of drunkenness, shouting, and messing up a good thing when you think of the singer? Obnoxious, ongoing riffs are totally in line with the bombshell singer and what we're hoping to hear from her-if she sticks around on "The Voice" or anywhere else next season.
