As a kid, it must be a dream come true. A hammock in the house? Awesome! But for fashion designer Rachel Roy's 10-year-old daughter, it's a fantasy turned reality.
After swinging on one during a vacation to Jamaica, the mother and daughter pair returned home to New York with a colorful, striped hammock in their suitcase. Because they live in a former factory turned loft, Roy's bedroom has huge concrete columns that are the perfect palm tree substitutes.
And though it may be in the bedroom, they don't actually sleep in it. "It's not Gilligan's Island!" says the designer. But Roy and her daughter do relax, read, and rock, even when they're not on vacation.
It's definitely a fun, if unusual, idea. Would you ever have a hammock in your house?
