12 Food Items to Beautify Your Life

1. Avocado

Avocado is great because it has good fats that are good for hair and skin - making skin feel hydrated from the inside out.

2. Cucumber

Cucumber ares incredible for lymphatic drainage - and de-puffing your eyes. If you tend to have a puffy face or eyes, eating cucumber daily helps with this. Peel two slices of cucumber and put on your eyes when you wake up in the morning. Five minutes is recommended.

3. Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea bags are great for puffy eyes. Make tea with two tea bags, then take them out and let them cool to the touch. Place on your eyelids. Just be sure they have cooled down, but are not cold.

Also, the water from the chamomile tea is very soothing for the skin. If you have eczema on your body or red patches on your face, you can splash chamomile tea water on the face or put bag in your bath water. It calms the skin down and is very soothing. It's an old esthetician's tip. If you have sensitive skin, it works to calm it down. Any sensitive skin product will most likely contain chamomile.

4. Aloe Vera Juice

You can find aloe vera juice in any grocery store. It's great for digestion. Most people don't think about it, but your skin is a filter for your body. If something isn't properly digesting, it pushes through your skin. This is why people get acne and deep nodes under the skin. If you do a shot of aloe vera juice every day, it will lessen digestive issues.

5. Olive Oil

Olive oil is another good fat for your body. Internally, if you eat it every day it will help keep hair and skin hydrated - especially great protection from dry skin in the winter.

Also, when applied directly, it's a natural skin softener. If you have sun-damaged skin or you feel you could use something very anti-aging, put a couple drops in your hands and apply to skin directly. It will soft your skin overnight. It's a wonderful night treatment that's completely safe. Put around the eye area. Olive oil is found in many organic skin products. You will see a difference in your skin the next morning when you wake up. I like ingredients that make a big different every day!

6. Grapefruit

Grapefruit contains lots of Vitamin C, which not only prevents you from getting sick, but is also a really important ingredient for your skin foundation and your elasticity - the first thing that gets used up when you're exposed too much fun, pollution and stress. You need Vitamin C boosters in your diet and products. Grapefruit is also an amazing breakfast - it's not fattening, not a sugary fruit. It's a great ingredient for the skin. You can do a Vitamin C treatment with grapefruit juice and put it all over your skin for 10 minutes. Mush up the juice from a grapefruit into a bowl and apply to skin. You can put this on your face but not the eye area. If you want to make a mask, you can use plain yogurt. This will really brighten your skin. Once a week is recommended.

7. Celery

Celery is a great ingredient for your lymphatic system, and great if you want to lose weight. It's healthy for you and helps your skin from the inside out. I try to add it to my salad every day.

8. Yogurt

Yogurt is amazing as it has a lot of lactic acid which is great for soothing the skin. You can use yogurt by itself by putting plain yogurt on your skin, or you can mix in milk and honey for an incredible mask.

9. Kale

Kale is great to eat because it contains lots of Vitamin A, calcium, potassium, and magnesium and zinc - all wonderful for your lymphatic system. When someone complains about cellulite or puffy eyes, this all has to do with the lymphatic system. Kale boosts this.

10. Spinach

Spinach is another vegetable that gives your skin a healthy boost. Eat lots of spinach for glowing skin. Like celery and kale, your body needs these healthy items every day. Your body is a machine and you need to treat it right. Our life is rough on our bodies. We don't sleep or eat well. Be sure to have at least one meal where you feed your body some of these things. Your skin will thank you!

11. Honey

A fabulous ingredient for hydrating your skin. Warm honey and mix with yogurt or milk for an amazing skin mask.

12. Almond Powder

You can pick up almond powder in the baking section of the grocery store. It's a great exfoliant! If you want to do an at-home scrub. Mix almond butter with yogurt and once or twice a week - mix and use on your skin. Don't save and use later. Scrub into your T Zone area - scrub less on your cheeks, where you have more sensitive skin. You can additionally scrub into your crows feet. Leave on for 5 minutes and you'll see - it will make your skin look great. Almond powder sells for around $1 a bag. A great at-home skin treatment for much less than fancy beauty products!
