The Samsung HM3300 (starting at $30) imparts clear audio with little distortion, according to reviewers -- a must-have trait. Most consumers need not worry about a proper fit, as the Samsung HM3300 includes three different gel tips and two hooks. This headset uses Near Field Communication, or NFC, which allows for simple pairing with just a tap on a compatible phone. It can also connect to multiple devices at the same time. One drawback is the battery life: The headset is rated for only four hours of talk time.

While trend-setting early adopters look forward to the next iteration of the smart watch, one of the original pieces of wearable tech, the Bluetooth headset, remains the accessory of the masses. Wearers may get looks as they walk down the street apparently talking to themselves, but so does anyone with Google Glass. The Bluetooth headset certainly has its place in states that ticket drivers for using mobile devices. Even in cars that come with Bluetooth built in, a headset produces clearer sound and doesn't allow others in the car to eavesdrop.

Cheapism.com identified three Bluetooth headsets that deliver high-quality audio and a few other nifty features for less than $50. All three use noise cancellation to prevent distracting sound, such as traffic, a crowd, or the wind, from transmitting through the headset and drowning out the wearer's voice.

Bluetooth headsets let users do more than just answer phone calls. If you're looking for a way to listen to music or a favorite podcast without wires getting in the way, these headsets fill the bill via Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, or A2DP. The same technology can even feed GPS navigation to drivers.
