This year's annual New York City Canstruction competition takes place from February 1-11 at Brookfield Place World Financial Center. After the exhibit ends, all the cans will be donated to City Harvest, an organization that distributes food throughout the area. Admission is free, but visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods. Through last year's competition, City Harvest was able to feed 80,000 people.

Cans as works of art? It becomes a reality at Canstruction, a design competition and charity event held in cities across the U.S. and throughout the world, where teams from participating architecture, engineering, and design firms construct sculptures out of canned food. Take a look at last year's highlights, including the Titanic, a Lada Gaga shoe, and a Converse sneaker.
