The app-loaded Samsung side-by-side refrigerator in our last test was just a preview of developments we saw at CES. Many companies showed off fridges with integrated LCD screens so you can listen to Pandora or search recipes, but we were most impressed by LG’s offering. Using the built-in LCD you can search for recipes based on the inventory of your refrigerator and, once you pick a recipe, it can communicate with your LG range to automatically preheat it to the right temperature while you prep the ingredients. We wouldn’t be surprised if we saw more appliance lines that involve this kind of innovative communication between devices in the near future.Nowadays home tech is just as advanced as the latest laptops and smartphones. New technologies debuting this year promise to keep your home spotless, energy efficient, and secure.
