The Easiest Way to Make a Lavender-Scented Linen Spray


A couple spritzes of this lush fragrance will freshen towels and sheets. After drying your lavender (see How to Preserve Flowers and Herbs, follow these steps:

Step 1: In a small pot over medium heat, bring one cup water to simmer. Add four tablespoons dried lavender, and let steep for five minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 2: In a small pot over high heat, bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil. Meanwhile, using a funnel lined with a coffee filter, pour the steeped lavender water into a clean, 24-ounce mason jar. Discard the lavender and the filter. Add the boiling water, two tablespoons vodka, and 10 drops lavender essential oil ($9.98 for 1/2 oz.; bulkapothecary.com). Screw on the lid, and shake the jar vigorously.
