"Circle scarves are one of the most popular fashion trends as of late -- I personally have several of them in my scarf collection! However, accumulating enough of these scarves can start to put a dent in your pocketbook, because most circle scarves retail anywhere from $10 - $30. Yeah, that's right, $30 for a scarf. Luckily, if you are looking to indulge your scarf addiction with some circle scarves, a trip to your local craft and thrift stores is all you really need. I started this project by first visiting Nearly New Shop, a quaint thrift store in my home city, Binghamton, New York. There, I picked out several XL sweaters that I could turn into scarves for a grand total of $6." -- Sara Muftic less

Earth Day is April 22nd, so how are you greening your lifestyle? Instead of buying something new and cookie-cutter, scour flea markets and garage sales for a unique vintage item and upcycle it into something pretty and useful. Mother Earth (and your wallet) will thank you! We asked Shine readers how they transformed ordinary and dusty antique stuff into a creation of their own. Tell us in the comments where you find inspiration for your recycled, decorative projects. -- Ali Swank
