How to Turn Household Finds into a Charming Birdbath

Materials


Screwdriver or pliers

Large metal pot lid (ours was 14" in diameter)

Epoxy (optional)

Strong adhesive (like Gorilla glue, $9; GorillaTough.com)

Large pillar candle holder (ours was 20" tall)

Newspaper or dropcloth

Outdoor spray primer

Outdoor spray paint

Small stones (optional)

Directions

1.
Use a screwdriver or pliers to remove the lid's handle from the pot. Plug the remaining hole with epoxy, if necessary.

2.
Add a liberal amount of adhesive to the top edge of the candle holder. Invert the lid and center it over the candle holder; press into place. Let dry completely.

3.
On a covered surface in a well-ventilated area, prime entire birdbath with spray primer. Let dry.

4.
Apply 2 or 3 coats of spray paint; let dry between each coat.

5.
If your pot lid is deep, add a few rocks for birds to perch on. Fill with water.
