“American Psycho” and “Spider-Man” are Broadway bound: Which unexpected movie should be a musical?

After three and a half years of planning, a stage adaptation of "Spider-Man" is finally coming to fruition with U2 set to write the music. There's already a fourth Spidey movie slated for 2011, so we think there's a good chance a musical could triumph on the cushion of one of the most successful film franchises of all time.

Looking for something a little edgier? How about "American Psycho," the book by Bret Easton Ellis turned movie about a murdering '80s Wall Street banker. Now doesn't that just scream "Broadway"? Producers see now as the time to strike with "American Psycho" since the country's current state of financial disaster could potentially lend itself to song, dance, and a whole lot of rage. As for casting ideas, no ideas have been thrown out yet, but the movie version starred Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, and we already know he can work a musical-"Newsies" anyone?

With such surprising visions heading to the stage, which movies would you like to see adapted? My vote goes to either "Boogie Nights" or "Fargo." [Breitbart][Reuters]
