This is Apparently What Christian Grey of '50 Shades of Grey' Looks Like

A British academic used police software to create a composite of '50 Shades of Grey's' Christian Grey. Hot? Or just kind of creepy?

Media outlets across the globe have been playing the 50 Shades of Grey casting game for months-but now, we've got a look at what Christian Grey might actually look like once he gets off the page and into the physical world, courtesy of the above picture. What do you think, Bettys? Does he look the way you'd imagine he would?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the image is the work of British professor Dr. Faye Shelton of the University of Central Lancashire. With the aid of police software used to create composites of criminals, Dr. Shelton took a number of female readers' descriptions of Christian, pulled features from a variety of male celebrities' faces, and cobbled the whole thing together into one shot. The version of Christian depicted here features (among others) Channing Tatum's and Brad Pitt's hair, Patrick Dempsey's and Johnny Depp's eyes, David Beckham's face shape, Chris Hemsworth's nose, and Val Kilmer's lips (we're assuming that we're talking about Tombstone-era Val Kilmer here, not Mark Twain Val Kilmer).

Truthfully? It's… kind of creepifying. This isn't the first time it's been proven that taking the best bits of a whole bunch of good-looking people and slapping them onto the same face is NOT necessarily a recipe for gorgeousness (remember the computer-generated "most beautiful woman in the world" composite?). I also think Crushable had it right when they remarked upon the image's strong resemblance to Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Is anyone else weirded out by the idea of a 50 Shades/Home Improvement crossover? Shudder.

Dr. Shelton does admit that the image is far from the ultimate in Grey-ness; after all, she only used 12 readers' descriptions when putting the project together. She told the UK Daily Mail, "While we don't want to intrude on anyone's fantasies, based on a small sample of women, this is the image of Christian Grey they have in their heads when reading the novels. Personally, I think he's quite handsome," she added, "although everyone's interpretation will be different." All in all, she considers the exercise "just a bit of fun," but she does point out that her little pet project "does show the quality of image we can now generate" with the software.

Anyway, now you've got a Christian Grey mugshot to go with your Christian Grey lingerie. Enjoy.
