The Black Man Theory

This book I will be writing is based on the crisis of missing men in the black household. It gets down to the root of the problem... Why black men don't take care of their children? Why black men tend to sell drugs? Why black men over populate prison? And that's only a small list of the many questions people tend to ask.
Why black men arent at home with their black women? According to the washington Post, 42 percent of black women are unmarried and 70 percent are single. Women might find these numbers not surprising. Mostly because they see it going on day in and day out in their community. What people need to understand is that, in order for a connection to function properly, men and women have to agree. Without an agreement, the connection will go down it's own path, leaving one alone. Seconly, men and women must motivate one another to keep this connection steady. The motivation gives the relationship hope and strenght.
Why black men don't take care of their children? African American children are 9 times more likely to have pparents enter prison than white children. It's sad to say but it's true. I feel like those numbers reflect lack of manhood training. The man is suppose to play the role as the educator within his family. The woman depends on a man to provide the necessities to build a healthy relationship.
Back in 2002, 7.8% children of married couples were living in proverty in the United States. But those numbers aren't as alarming as 38.4% single women parents living in poverty. One may ask oneself, is this right? And what can we do about it? As we look deeper in this discussion, we find that it's a crisis going on with the black man. More and more black men are absent but need to be present. But how can that happen if they are mostly lock-up!
In 2003, the Justice Department said the prison population tipped over 2 million inmates. About 10.4% of the African American population between the age of 25-29 were in prison.
Today, there are more African Americans locked up than there are in college. In the year, 200 there were 791,600 black men in prison and 603,032 enrolled in college. In 1980, there were 143,00 black men in prison and 463,700 enrolled in college. As you can see, the numbers from college to prison switched like a seesaw. Blackmen stopped going to college in the streets and started going to college in prison. I wonder why?
According to Bridget Webber, there are four main things that can effect children from not having a father figure:
1. Role Model: Women can't raise a man. I know you heard that more than once. A woman can only imitate what she see a man do and try to teach her son what she sees. But we all know that process only provide false impressions of what a man is suppose to feel. The son knows that his mother is a woman and can't possibly know how it feels to be a man. The daughter feels safe when a father is present but without a father, she is left feeling vulnerable. She will in turn seek protection from some man who will not protect her like she think a her father would.
2. Discipline: The mother tries to discipline the children all by herself, but fail every time due to her kindness. children often get there way when it comes to the mother. Fathers are more bold when it comes to discipline. Features in a father show that he is in control. And the kids respect the one in control.
3. Loss: Children are effected by missing fathers either unkown or dead. Many children are left with a feeling of loss when a father leave the family or die from numerous reasons. it's the love they are missing. Fathers show children a different kind of love that a mother can give. Children find that the world has took something from that they can't get back. It can cause children to lash out on their mothers or the community for taking someone they think has been taken from them.
4. Economics: Money plays a big role in the household. The father is known as the bread winner in the family. If a father is missing, then the children suffer. They miss out on a good education, heathy food resources, and basic necessities for self development growth.
