BlackBerry Messenger: The best free technological advance ever

You can keep your iPhones even with the $100 rebate. I want no part of that world! Not that I'm anti-Apple products-they're clearly some of the coolest, most aesthetically pleasing items on the market. But there is one very significant program they are lacking: BlackBerry Messenger.

This device-to-device feature is unparalleled by any phone and makes text messaging seem antiquated. Why wait for a text to go through and a response to come in when you can have the instant gratification almost like an Instant Messenger program where it even tells you when your recipient is typing a response! Oh, and did I mention there is NO COST! Screw unlimited texting-you don't even need a plan for BBM. It's just a perk of being a proud BlackBerry owner.

Just as "what's your phone number" has been replaced to "what's your email address" the new question I'm asked at least once a week: "What's your pin number." The sheer delight I get upon new additions to my contact list can only be equated to approximately 10 new, quality Facebook friends. I'll BMM my friend across the table if there's a quick secret I need to share or I'll even put my Blackberry on silent mode and BBM while at the movies -- shhh don't tell!

My only goal now: to convert all my most frequent text buddies to BlackBerry units. Attention iPhoners: I have my sights set on you. It may be a challenge, but I have a secret weapon.
