My Britney Spears obsession is probably fairly evident to you all after countless Brit-related blogs about her getting back on track with her old manager, her TV appearances, her new album, her rumored duet with Justin Timberlake, her three MTV Video Music Award nominations, her much anticipated-yet-refuted appearance at the VMAs and her imminent comeback. (Do you feel like I've brainwashed you yet?)

She's fallen hard, but I can't wait for our old pop princess to be back on top again... and now it finally seems like it's happening. Yesterday it was confirmed that despite recent denials, Britney will in fact open the 25th annual MTV VMAs. Sadly, her appearance on Sunday night's show wont be a performance, but rather something "fun and unexpected," whatever that means.

"MTV has long played an important role in my career," says Britney. "How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs? I'm excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated."

So does Britney stand a chance at bringing home an award? "It feels like it's her year," hints MTV Networks Music Group President Van Toffler. "I think for Britney, people are rooting for her, and she's really on the road to recovery." YES! After seeing her newly-back-in-shape bod, now we really can't wait to see Britney on TV again.

Oh and a note to all you haters who are just waiting for her to trainwreck: go ahead and tune in! Her anticipated appearance last year earned a 23 percent increase in VMA viewership. We can only imagine her power now that she's back, cleaned up her act and looking fab.

Are you excited to see what Britney has in store for the VMAs? Do you think she can make a legit comeback? [Yahoo][ONTD]
