Vanity Fair's controversial June issue featuring a topless, sheet-covered Miley Cyrus was unsurprisingly the magazines best selling issue since last November, with 435,000 copies flying off newsstands, as reported by Portfolio. Famed photographer Annie Leibowitz who snapped the 15-year-old's suggestive pose stood up the heat, claming it was "misinterpreted."

Yesterday on Good Morning America, Miley Cyrus finally spoke out on the photos that debuted this past April. "I think I was just in a stage where I was just trying to get things done, and maybe look for an older audience. I was working with a big magazine just trying to go with what they were saying." Since the episode, Ms. Hannah Montana says she has learned "to stay true" to herself, claiming "I think it does make me more relatable [to my fans]." If she means the countless scantily clad MySpace photos that keep appearing, she's probably right.
