It's the Economy Stupid!!

With this being an election year I just thought that I would put in my two cents worth.Of course thats about all any of us have anymore and we look to the election as some magical fix, sorry I'm a witch and don't believe that BS.The truth to the matter is that the fix for our economy lies not in our goverment but in the corner office with the ceo's and coo's of most corperations that have left wages stagnent for years. For me I have not had a real pay raise in ten years paycuts to be sure but no substancial pay increase.MY bills have gone up so I have no savings for retirement and very little real savings. I loved when I saw an episode of undercover boss where the guy realized what this had done to his workers, he cried. He finally realized that his responsibility was not just to his share holders and customers but to his employees too.A living wage is not minimum wage(or less in the case of wait staff)it is a wage where people can live off of what they take home after a weeks work. Now there are all sorts of arguments and exceptions that people will try to make. But here's the bottom line if a person shows up for work as scheduled for a week then they should be able to live off of those wages. If a person is scheduled to work 5 or more days out of a seven day week their take home pay should cover their living expenses no matter how many hours. There should be overtime pay for all hours over40,but many businesses find ways around this. This is NOT socialism this is just fairness. The goverment can only do so much it is up to the business community to do what is right.Just because you don't have labor unions does not mean you don't have to do the right thing and pay living wages because this economy is now showing what happens when people can't get realistic wages. They don't spend and since not every company is involved in providing essential services and as people cut back; sooner rather than later your product or service will be cut Mr ceo,coo..Wages must go up just as profits do that is the bottom line, not just the balance sheet.
Well thats my opinion, for what it's worth.
