Festive Non-Alcoholic Drinks to Dress Up Your Halloween Party

By Carmen Staicer for DietsInReview.com

Hosting a Halloween party this weekend? Even if you choose to offer alcoholic beverages, you will still need an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages on hand as well. You could always serve soda, water or juice, but then again you could spice up your party with some of these delicious, non-alcoholic beverages that won't ruin the diet, break the bank, or cause you to ponder, "Just what happened last night, anyway?"

Pumpkin is a wonderful source of vitamin A and fiber, and mixing it into this Pumpkin Smoothie is a fantastically tasty way to enjoy the festive gourd. A terrific choice for a party, especially if it's still warm where you are, this drink tastes like pumpkin pie, but without the calories.

Cascal is a fermented soda crafted with natural juices. Refreshingly light, bubbly and lower in calories, it is offered in five flavors - Crisp White, Fresh Tropical, Berry Cassis, Bright Citrus, and Ripe Rouge. If you are adventurous, you could mix these versatile beverages with wine to create a spritzer, but they are refreshing all on their own. I sampled these and found them to be a yummy, not too sweet soda alternative.

Spiced Apple Cider - I'm not a lover of juice, but for a party, spiced apple cider can be a delicious treat. Heat 1 gallon 100% apple cider or juice in a saucepan with 3 cinnamon sticks. Strain and serve warm.

Virgin Bloody Mary - Combine 46 oz. tomato juice, 1/2 t dried oregano, 1/2 t salt,1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce in a pitcher. Chill overnight to blend flavors, and serve cold, garnished with a celery stick.

Orange Dream Punch - In a large punch bowl, mix 1 gallon orange juice with 2 liters seltzer water. Then, float scoops of low fat vanilla ice cream on top.

Pomegranate Tangerine Cider
- This is a refreshing take on a seasonal favorite, contributed to DIR by Alison Lewis. Take the cider that we all know and love, then add tangerine and pomegranate juices with seasonal spices.
