Happy Monday! 10 Things We’re Excited About This Week

Let the Oscars countdown begin! Ellen is already looking so fresh and so clean in her show teasers, we can't wait to see her take the stage for Hollywood's most extravagant night of the year. Six days 'til showtime …

Here's everything we're excited about this week:

1. Of course, we have to begin with the Academy Awards. The red carpet started rolling out in Hollywood last night, and by the end of the week it will be stretching all the way to Ellen's door. She looks great in a tux!

2. Starting the week off right, Monday is National Tortilla Chip Day. It's awesome to feel like you have no other choice but to eat Tostitos and dip, but why wasn't this synched up with National Margarita Day?!

3. Seth Meyers gets his turn in the spotlight as the 4th host of "The Late Show," following in the footsteps of Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, and David Letterman. He premieres tonight, and while he says he took the job because it "might not be boring," we're thinking it probably will be amazing.

4. Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel do the Oscar dosey doe. The friends and fellow pranksters will each make an appearance on the other's show this Wednesday in honor of Oscar weekend. The only question is: who will get the last laugh? (Experts are predicting Ellen!)

5. Jason Collins became the first openly gay player in the NBA on Sunday when he made his debut with the Nets during their game against the Lakers. He'll be hitting the courts this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday! Hats off to him and to Brooklyn.

6. In new music releases, St. Vincent, The Fray, Ledisi and ScHoolboy Q all have albums out, which should be great additions to your playlist, and after a six-year drought, Beck returns with his new album "Morning Phase"! It's being described as his most spectral work yet, which is saying something since Beck's albums are all considerably spectral.

7. "Scandal" is back! That's all.

10. We'll close by saying we're mostly just really pumped to see what Ellen has in store for the Oscars! Our champagne has been on ice since January.
