Hasselbeck 'Really Upset' With 'The View'

Rumor has it that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is "really upset" about the recent political discussions taking place on "The View."

A longtime "View" staff member told The Chicago Sun-Times: "It's not as bad as during the Rosie [O'Donnell] era," but the presidential election has Hasselbeck, a Republican, "really upset" with her liberal co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. The Sun-Times says show creator and journalist Barbara Walters even called a "cooling off" meeting to keep a lid on things.

Hasselbeck - the youngest of "The View" women - has her work cut out for her being the only Republican in the group in as hot a political year as this. You could cut the tension with a knife during the Rosie era. Earlier this month, O'Donnell wrote on her blog:

"Sarah p - elisabeth h identical cousins
women who hunt in high heels
gives one pause"

When she appeared on "The Martha Stewart Show" in April, O'Donnell referred to Hasselbeck as "a little Republican who scared me."

The National Enquirer has reported that Hasselbeck may even leave "The View" to host her own show on FOX News.

"[She] feels she can't win at "˜The View," but she's been told by friends at FOX News that they'd find a spot for her without hesitation," a source told the Enquirer. "They love Elisabeth at FOX - she gets high ratings whenever she appears on the network."
