Life is funny, when your born you know nothing and really don't care. Your parents or caretakers whom ever they may be look out for you.
As you grow you learn to scoot, crawl and then at last walk, talk and eat table or normal food just like your parents or caretakers.
Then you hit that magic number 5 that's the first one. Yeah you get to go to school just like the big kids.
And for a while your happy, you look forward to going. As you go through school, you find all kinds of new ways to skip class and then school all together it seems the thing to do and hey, It cool. Your friends are all doing it and besides if you don't join in then your just lame, square, dull an outcast so you do it.
Of course your parents or caretakers ask you the age old question when you get caught, if your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it to? Trust me, one day you will find a reason to ask you own child this same thing or a version thereof. And you look at your parents as if they are stupid or speaking another language and say "I don't Know" walk away and slam the door and call or text or e-mail all your friends and tell them all how lame your parents are. You seek out at night because they give you stupid reasons that you can't go to your friends house or that party across town and what do they really know anyways.
So you go.
Then you get even older and you turn 16 yea, I can now drive I've passed all of my tests. But my stupid parents want let me go where I want when I want.......they are still so lame.
Then it's 18 and you were a cap and gown and walk down and get that all powerful piece of paper. At last it's over now I'm free. I'm 18 the magic number, my parents can't tell me what to do ever again! They are both stupid anyway..................Time to Party.
This works out well for a lot of young people and it can work out well for some unknown period of time.
Yes live life to the fullest you only get one chance. But Please, Please remember you only DIE once too!
Now your 21 you can go into any store of any kind and buy booze a LOT of booze and suddenly you have a ton of new friends.......of course they are all under 21 put who cares the OLD FARTS don't know anything after all they are all LAME.
So your at a party, everybody is having a blast.................a fight breaks out. WHAT DO YOU DO?

NOTHING, THAT GUY WILL KILL ME IF I TELL HE HAS A RECORD AFTER ALL!

NOTHING I'M UNDERAGE AND DRINKING, MY PARENTS WILL KILL ME OR THE COPS WILL ARREST ME.

NOTHING, I DON'T WANT TO BE THE ONLY SNITCH PEOPLE WILL HATE ME, THEY WANT BE FRIENDS WITH ME ANY MORE THEY WANT ASK ME TO ANY MORE PARTIES.

A LIFE IS NOW GONE FOREVER. HIS PARENTS MORN FOR HIM AS DOES MOST OF THE COUNTY
HE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK AGAIN. IT WILL BE SOME TIME BEFORE WE SEE HIM. ANY OF US.
HE WAS CHEATED AND BY HIS FRIENDS.

KIDS......................YES I AM LAME BUT I KNOW ONE THING..............NOW YOU ALL WEEP AND ARE SORRY. THE KIDS WHO DID THE UNSPEAKABLE AND THE ONES WHO DID NOTHING.

WHAT TO DO IF THIS EVER HAPPENS AGAIN
1. Yes try to help try to talk sense into the attackers
2. If this fails leave the party, get away
3. Go to the nearest pay phone dial 911 it's a FREE call. You can quickly give the information and refuse to tell them who you are or where you are or even how you know. Then Leave the Pay phone.
Get away before anyone shows up. Go home and tell your parents what you saw. You can even leave out names if you need to but tell someone!
4. Don't say a word to your friends, even your best friend. He was with friends and look what they did to him.
5. If your under age don't drink to start with. Then your not in that spot to begin with. You can always claim to be the designated driver. No one will know the difference!
6. Help the Police, when they ask you questions. If you know something that will help bring a family some piece tell them. Your a minor they can protect you. You can request that YOUR NAME NOT BE USED.

7. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, TALK TO YOUR OWN CHILDREN AND TEACH THEM EARLY.
Give them your love and time for free.....................you never know how much TIME you will get with them. They are all GIFTS FROM GOD.

FOR THE FAMILIES OF THE ONES BEING CHARGED, my heart goes out to you also. YOU to have lost a child perhaps, but in your case you have to watch as the process takes place and that has to be the hardest thing in the world. To live in fear each and every day and can do nothing but wait and hope and pray. So GOD BLESS YOU AND HELP ALL OF YOU BOTH THE PARENTS OF THE BOY BEATEN AND THE PARENTS OF THE ONES CHARGED, I hope God gives you strength during this very sad time.
