What’s in My Makeup Bag? Merle Norman’s Spring Collection!

Spring is here and I've got color on my mind! Goodbye dark berries and black eyeliner-I'm ready to lighten up for the warmer temperatures. I'm a professional makeup artist so yes, I do have more than my share of eyeshadows, lipsticks and cheek colors. Still, I can't resist trying out spring color collections from my favorite cosmetic companies-like Merle Norman.

This year, I received my sample pack and fell instantly in love. I got to try these products:

Lasting Cheekcolor
: Fancy Free

Age Defying Eyeliner: Charcoal

Eyecolor Trios: The Looking Glass and Wistful

Creamy Lip Color: Late Bloomer (a soft coral) and Just Right

Age-Defying Lipstick: The One

Lip Polish: Confection

The cases were stylish in black and silver so I loved the look instantly! As for the colors, I noticed that everything was a bit softer, with the exception of one of the eye colors called Violet Femme. Even the eyeliner was softer, despite the label (Charcoal). This move went right along with what I saw on the runways for spring 2014. Softer eyes (a lot less black eyeliner) with warmer cheeks.

The makeup gurus at Merle Norman did strike the right note with the cheek color, Fancy Free. It's is definitely one of the prettiest cheek colors I have seen in recent years. I could easily see it working on a variety of skin tones. My favorite eye trio was The Looking Glass, I guess I'm just a sucker for pinks and browns, especially in spring. I don't see me using Wistful everyday but I do look forward to wearing it at Easter!

Of the lip colors, my favorite was the lip polish Confection. It just looked sweet, bright and so pink. For lipstick, I absolutely adore Just Right. It's a clever blend of sheer and pink color probably with a touch of coral. I wear it everyday! I absolutely recommend Merle Norman's Spring Collection for anyone looking for a spring makeover.

Of course, you don't have to take my word for it, you can visit your local Merle Norman and try it before you buy it. At least for a limited time!
