Mean Betty Applauds Courtney Stodden's New Makeup Choices!

Gasp! Can it be? Is this really makeup-addicted teen bride Courtney Stodden? Meanie can hardly believe it!

Kittens, do you know from whom we haven't heard in quite some time? No, it's not Lindsay Lohan (she got arrested again last week); and no, it's not Amanda Bynes, either (same deal); then who? That's right: Courtney Stodden, teen bride and, so it would seem, budding porn star.

Courtney, by the way, turned 18 last month; and while this finally makes her legal instead of jailbait, Meanie isn't entirely sure it makes her feel any better about the fact that the girl is married to a 52-year-old. But that-and all of the adult film offers dear Courtney allegedly garnered when she came of age-aside, Meanie is happy to report something POSITIVE about Courtney for once: She is no longer doing her makeup in such a way as to make her look several decades older than she actually is!

Look no further than the picture above for proof; though if you must, compare that image, which was shot last Wednesday during a shopping trip to LA's The Grove, with the one below:

This is how we poor, unfortunate souls have been used to seeing Courtney since she flew onto our radars in 2011. Between the frosted lipstick, the overwhelmingly dark shadow, the layer of foundation so think Meanie believes one could probably draw pictures in it with one's finger, and everything else caked onto her face, she has consistently looked like she is at LEAST 35, if not older (and also possibly of ill repute).

But behold! What is this sorcery? What has compelled darling Courtney to-dare we say it-lighten up? Can this really be the same girl? Yes! It is magical!

Of course, Courtney's love of makeup is still readily apparent in her new look; her "daytime" wear is something most of us no doubt reserve solely for nighttime, and she still appears between five and ten years older than her 18 years. But still: What a difference age-appropriate choices make! In fact, does she not look a tiny bit like Christina Aguilera did many moons ago?

This is how Christina looked in 2000, when she was not quite 20 and riding on the waves created by the success of "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants." Yes, Christina is wearing rather a lot of makeup here (something she still hadn't grown out of), but she still looks like the teenager that she is. The same might be said of Courtney's new look.

That hasn't stopped the always-present accusations of plastic surgery, however. But Courtney's momager, Krista Keller (whom Meanie believes could give Kris Jenner a run for her money!), has been on hand as she is wont to do to address the nay-sayers and rumormongers. "It's ridiculous!" Krista told E! Online. "She's doing her makeup differently-that's all it is!" She continued, "Courtney decided she wanted to change her makeup. She went for a lighter, more natural look, an old Hollywood kind of look." Kristen even broke down Courtney's new makeup routine. "All she did was lighten her hair, used a lighter shade of makeup and tanner, and not use as much eyeliner." Meanie isn't QUITE sure that she would describe Courtney's new look as "natural" or "old Hollywood," but she does appreciate the lighter hand and more youthful color choices. After all, nothing makes one look quite as much like a fading relic than the horrors of frosted pink lipstick!

Of course, it's also true that Courtney and her hubby, actor Doug Hutchison, will be appearing on this season of Couples Therapy, so perhaps the new look is simply a sign that there is trouble in paradise-or that the couple is attempting to work out the issues that are no doubt caused by the 34-year age gap between them.

In any event, though, Meanie thinks that we might be making progress here. Now all we need to do is get dear Courtney to put down the airbrushing gun and get rid of the false lashes!

Mean Betty
