Miley Cyrus is Officially an Object of Sociological Inquiry

If you didn't get into the Rutgers University women's-studies class "Politicizing Beyoncé," you could still try for "The Sociology of Miley Cyrus" at Skidmore College this summer. We probably could have guessed sociology students would one day examine "gender, race, class, economic status, identity, fame, sexualization, oppression and power" in Miley Cyrus's VMA performance, we just didn't expect it to be ... in June. Twerking, however, is not on the syllabus. "Sorry, dudes, but this is sociology," assistant professor Carolyn Chernoff told the Saratogian. "Learn to twerk on your own time."
