MONTBLANC – the OFFICIAL“TIMEWRITER” at BREEDERS’ CUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Montblanc, manufacturer of luxury handcrafted timepieces, was the official "TIMEWRITER" for the 2012 Breeder Cup World Championship. Fort Larned beat Mucho Macho Man to the wire to win the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita on Nov. 3, 2012. Fort Larned ran the race of his life, leading all the way to win by a half-length over Mucho Macho Man. Fort Larned was rewarded with the Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph along with many long lasting memories.

The partnership between Montblanc and The Breeders Cup launched in 2009, designating Montblanc as the exclusive partner in the timing category for the 2012 Breeders' Cup. The 29 th Breeders' Cup World Championships was held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA and is thoroughbred racing's most prestigious global event, consisting of 15 races and $26 million in purses.

Montblanc is also continuing the 2012 Star Rieussec Award, named after Montblanc's eponymous timepiece. The Award will be presented to the owner with the most combined victories in Breeders' Cup Challenge races and 15 Breeders' Cup World Championships races. The Breeders' Cup Challenge is a global series of 65 stakes races, whose winners earn automatic starting positions into the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
