The Only Healthy Halloween Treats Worth Eating

There are a bunch of lists circulating right now that offer ideas for healthy Halloween treats. Some are better than others. For the record, shaping vegetables on a plate like a candy corn does not compare to actual candy corn.

And raisins? Please. People have been trying to sell us on that one forever.

Here's a list of the best healthy Halloween sweets and how you can partake in the thematic noshing.

1.) Homemade Candy: Vegan Kit Kats, Mounds, Snickers and Rolos do exist! They're super delish and all involve melting chocolate. Vegan Kit Kats

2.) Boo-nanas. Time to get a little cray-cray with your fruit. To create, dip peeled bananas in orange juice, then roll in shredded coconut to make white ghosts. Add small raisins or dark chocolate chips for eyes (obviously, we recommend the latter). Insert wooden craft sticks for a handle so you can have some fun before eating. Serve as-is or frozen. 3.) Monster Apple Mouths. A spin on the classic apple-peanut butter combo, this recipe brings raisins, pretzels and marshmallows to the party, and is great for pre-trick-or-treating fuel. They're also quite appetizing… minus the fake spiders crawling all over them. Monster Apple Mouths

4.) No-Bake Chocolate Pumpkin Pie. Cut us a piece of this ASAP! It's easy to make, contains mostly pumpkin, and if you use dark chocolate, you can even go vegan with it! No bake chocolate pumpkin pie

5.) Vegan Candy Corn. Now THIS is a legit substitute for candy corn. Unfortunately, it's not totally healthy (let's face it, candy corn = sugar), but this recipe offers a swap-out for all the animal products used in packaged candy, and it's fresh.
