Ah, New York City. They've been neck-in-neck with Chicago as both cities claim on having the best pizza in the world, but in the end, New York City takes the title. With restaurants like Lombardi's Pizza, who's been serving up mouthwatering pies for thousands of customers yearly and was licensed by the City of New York as America's First Pizzeria in 1905, New York City is the ultimate when it comes to pizza.

The search for the best pizza in America is over thanks to travelers and foodies across the country who've been testing numerous pies and sounding off in the media and online. Pizza is a subject I take very seriously. Two years ago, my life was changed forever when I had my first bite of a deep dish pizza in Chicago. Before our trip to the city, I did extensive research on the subject and narrowed the restaurants down to three. We visited a certain little restaurant that does not accept reservations and waited in line for 1 1/2 hours with three children (oh yes we did) to get a table. Was it worth it? Absolutely! It was delicious and everything it was hyped up to be. Chicago is definitely one of the best places in the U.S.A to buy a pie, but is it Numero Uno?
