Does your Doctor use Social Media to Educate?... Ob/Gyn Physician/Social Media Enthusiasts turn 'Commonly Asked Patient Questions' into Interesting/Answered blog posts at their fun, new blog on Women's Health @ GynoGroupie.com!

Do you find that unease or time constraints at your doctor visit, limit getting all of your questions answered? Many people do, in fact, 80% of internet users head to the web in search of health-related information. Though a wealth of medical information exists on the internet, consumers are left to interpret/decipher that information on their own. Further, what sites/information are reliable, understandable, easy to find, or even applicable to your particular concern? For consumers, the search for medical information on the internet can be a bit overwhelming.

The Ob/Gyn physicians of Eastside Gynecology Obstetrics (Roseville, MI) have a growing passion for the use of social/digital media for patient education. As physicians, we serve an important role in educating patients on health. Our physicians are using social media outlets and blogging, to extend the education aspect of the 'doctor's visit'…to reach the public at large. We're sharing news/info in the area of Women's Health, as well as, answers to commonly asked patient questions. If one patient in the office has questions on a particular topic, likely, there are plenty more who'd also appreciate our answers. Why not use social media to 'amplify' the educational aspect of the 'doctor visit'?

We've developed a fun, new blog (GynoGroupie.com) for that purpose. Our posts are based on current, evidence-based information in the area of Obstetrics/Gynecology/Women's Health…written in a casual, conversational tone, that's easy for readers to understand. We select topics to post, based on common patient questions that we address with patients in our practice, every day.

We're using social media/blogging to offer accurate, easily accessible Women's Health information in a fun, new way…delivered by the modern digital technologies that people both need and want!
