Sunday at the Brooklyn Flea Market

New York City's newest flea market has been quite the hit in Brooklyn with around 150 clothing, furniture, and food vendors coming every Sunday to sell their wares. Since Brooklyn Flea is only open through December (two more months!!), we thought we'd share some of our favorite photos from this great new antiquing hot spot. If you live in the area, be sure to check it out before it's too cold!

Two of our editors - Monica Michael Willis and Rebecca Thienes look through a selection of retro fabrics. Rebecca was impressed with the selection: "Everyone from specialty sellers to true junk purveyors are here," she said.

Look for super-soft cotton and silk sarongs, tunics, and dresses abound at Cristina Gitti's booth, Matta. These might not work for NYC's chilly winters, but come spring, you'll be glad they're in your closet!

Our editors said one of the best parts of Flea was the selection of tasty food. One vendor, Betsy Devine, fills a cannoli with the fresh ricotta she and partner Rachel Mark make under the name Salvatore Bklyn.

A surefire way to personalize your style: find a little-known, one-of-a-kind scent. David Moltz and Kavita Ahuja of D.S. & Durga call themselves"rogue perfumers" because theyuse plant resins, herbs, and natural oils in their small-batch scents.

Face it - the world is going "green." And why not join in the movement by furnishing your house with repurposed finds. Inspired by a love of old furniture, Chairloom's Molly Worth "upcycles" vintage chairs by reupholstering them with eco-friendly fabrics.

Forrest Poston of GinFor's Odditiques has a passion for West German pottery. He has collected and sold it for an astounding 14 years.

Keep It Moving Design's Kim Hamlin hand-knits these adorable little hats, which are sure to keep you warm during your shopping trip.

Founders of Brooklyn Flea: Eric (left), a former staffer for the Brooklyn borough president, and Jonathan, founder of the real estate Website brownstoner.com, say the Flea is like a modern-day town square.

The Brooklyn Flea takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Find out more at brooklynflea.com.
