T.I. makes jail sentence work in his favor—lands a reality show

Never one to pass up an opportunity, T.I. has scored a TV show while on house arrest. Prior to serving his one-year sentence from gun charges, the King of the South will perform 1,000 hours of community service and discuss the dangers of guns and gangs on camera as part of a plea deal he struck with the judge. "Hopefully the mistakes I've made will be a lesson to today's youth, and they won't go down that same path," says the 27-year-old Grammy winner.

If this goes off well, his sentence (he pled guilty to attmempting to buy three machine guns and silencers) could be even further reduced-man, that's celebrities for you. MTV has ordered up eight episodes and will begin filming this summer. It should premiere around the time T.I. reports to jail next January. [E!]
