True Friendship, as Depicted by a Lion, Tiger and Bear – Oh My!

We can learn a lot about getting along with those who are different from us by looking to the amazing friendship of three wild animals.

Baloo the bear, Leo the lion and Shere Kahn the Bengal tiger live together at Noah's Ark wild animal rescue in Locust Grove, GA. These predatory creatures have been inseparable since they first arrived to the animal sanctuary twelve years ago as cubs.

The three animals were rescued over a decade ago from drug dealers who abused and neglected them. Leo suffered a raw spot on his nose, while Baloo had to have an ingrown harness surgically removed from his skin.

At their new home, the trio bonded and grew up together. Now mature, the three nuzzle, cuddle, and play together in their pen, and act out if they're ever separated from one another. They really have become best friends!

"I think that the ordeal they went through as youngsters really bonded them," said Noah's Ark worker Allison Hedgecoth to ABC News. "That's all that they had. They only had each other for comfort."

Want to enjoy the adorableness of these three furry and ferocious friends all year round? Pick up a "BLT" (that's Bear, Lion, Tiger) 2014 calendar!
