My Weight Loss Resolution Becomes a Reality

Well, well, well. Here I am sitting comfortably in a size 16 pair of jeans. Surprise! Just a few weeks ago, this was an impossibility. Now I am feeling empowered and ready to continue fighting the battle of the bulge. (Swimsuit weather is just a few months away and I would love to shop for a swimsuit without visiting the plus size section.) I know I am putting myself out there by coming forward about my weight but I had to share what is working for me.

First, a little background. I am in my 40's (but still a hottie) and I spend a lot of time researching, reading and of course, writing. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism. I have been on hormone replacement therapy for this thyroid issue for several years. So to sum it up, little exercise, crazy hormones and of course I'm not 20. I began the New Year with a quiet resolution to do something about my increasing waistline. I couldn't live in a size 18 any longer. (Not hating on my size 18 sisters. Peace!) I began to have joint pain and difficulty with movement. That was the big sign for me that I needed to change something.

Then, Nutrisystem reached out to me! As a professional blogger who loves reviewing beauty and skin care products, I somehow ended up on the NS radar. In exchange for a free sample of Nutrisystem's new My Way program, I was asked to share my experience so here I am.

I began on January 11th and this Saturday, I will be two weeks on NS. So how am I doing? I'm down 7 pounds! Oh my gosh, the mobility! Before my fans hate on me, let me tell you what I eat. I eat a NS breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also get two snacks and a dessert. Besides these yummy entrees, I have protein shakes and unlimited vegetables (except for starchy one) and a daily allowances for "smart" carbs like fruit and brown rice.

So far, my favorites are the blueberry muffin for breakfast, loaded baked potato for lunch and stuffed shells for dinner. (So much creamy cheese and spinach goodness!)

I love that Nutrisystem is teaching me what I need to eat through the course of the day, even after the program ends. With a 1500 calorie diet and daily exercise, I'm seeing fantastic results. Why didn't I do this before?

With the My Way plan, I received the Fast 5 kit too. That was basically a seven day kit that gave my metabolism a jumpstart. Along with the delicious food, (that's easy to heat, I also received frozen goodies like ice cream sandwiches and fudge bars.) Best of all, I have an awesome counselor, Rachel, who's been there every step of the way. When I need direction or help on food selection, she's there. Another reason why I love Nutrisystem.

Okay, I know I'm going to heckled by some and probably called names but for women like me who need food education, guidance and convenience, this is the way to go. If sharing my story helps just one woman, I am happy. I am going to keep on working out and eating right. I've only got 43 more pounds to go!!
